Regarding 25 years as a professional artist Mervel says: “I’ve always done management and public relations myself and learned how along the way. Alongside paintings I also make three-dimensional constructions. In my graphic work; etchings and high relief prints I make one unique print. The results serve as a starting point for experimentation. Series in edition are made only on commission. Two such series of coloured etchings can now be found in collections spread out across 24 countries. For the past ten years I have given workshops in painting and graphic arts.”
